“…It’s Just Basic Manners!”

If you care about wild plants, American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) Herbal Insight Award Winner, Trish Flaster thinks your ethics have to match your enthusiasm (or at least your commercial interest).

In this teaser from our Explorer’s Way podcast conversation, she talks about what true sustainability looks like on the ground…not as a buzzword, but as a relationship:

➡️ When you go out to harvest from the wild, she says, you have a responsibility to plant, restore, or give back in some concrete way so that as you take something out, just as much is left behind.

For Trish, that isn’t a lofty ideal or a regulatory checkbox; it’s basic manners… the same kind of respect you’d show if you borrowed something from a neighbor and made sure to return it in at least as good condition as you found it. Makes sense to me!
