Botanizing Doesn’t Stop at the Shoreline! ๐ŸŒฟ ๐ŸŒŠ

One of my favorite things about the Pacific coast is the diversity of kelp both found in the tidal zone and in the deeper zones in the form of giant underwater forests. ๐ŸŒฒ ๐Ÿซ

Turkish Towel (Chondracanthus spp.) seaweed is fun and easy to identify. Thick, rubbery, and dimpled like textured cloth, it feels almost handmade by the ocean, a living fabric that gets draped over rocks along the shoreline.

As it’s name implies, it can be used as an exfoliating bath towel or loofah just by taking a blade and keeping in the shower. ๐Ÿ›€ ๐ŸŒฟ
