Post Series: Medicinal Flowers
When we think of medicinal plants, it’s often the roots, leaves, or bark that come to mind—yet around the world, flowers have long been used for their healing properties. This series explores some of the most powerful and time-honored blooms used in traditional and modern herbal medicine… as diverse as they are beautiful.
Hibiscus, known for its striking deep red petals and tart, cranberry-like flavor, is a tropical flowering plant native to West Africa. The calyces of the flower are commonly dried and brewed into a vibrant, tangy tea enjoyed around the world. Rich in antioxidants and traditionally used to support heart health and lower blood pressure, hibiscus tea is as medicinal as it is refreshing.
